The greatest homecoming since Randall Peltzer brought a Mogwai back to his son, Billy, after his trip to Chinatown.

The LA Galaxy tour of Ireland, starring Robbie Keane, rolled into the Phoenix Park today and our very own President, Michael D Higgins was waiting at the end of a freshly hoovered red carpet. Galaxy are in Ireland for their pre-season and will take on Shamrock Rovers at Tallaght Stadium on Saturday. President Higgins opened the doors to Áras an Uachtaráin this afternoon. He had kind words for Galaxy coach Bruce Arena and his 'extraordinarily fit' players but reserved the most glowing praise for Keane. 'He's made us all very proud,' said President Higgins. He then went on to note how Keane was deserving of the title "world-class" and marvelled at his international goal-scoring tally of 65. 'That's a tribute to Robbie,' the President hastily added, 'not a criticism of the other players.' Meanwhile, here is what Alan Gordon and Dan Garzan of the Galaxy got up to on Tuesday:
