Premier League footballer arrested on suspicion of child sex offences

A married Premier League player has been arrested on suspicion of child sex offences.

The 31-year-old player has been suspended by his club while police investigate the allegations, according to the Daily Mail.

He was arrested on Friday by GMP but was released on bail following a raid of his home earlier this month.

GMP's statement reads:

"Officers arrested a 31-year-old man on Friday 16 July 2021 on suspicion of child sex offences.

"He is on police bail pending further enquiries."

The player's agent declined to comment.
