Manchester City and Liverpool, the winners of the last eight Premier League titles between them, are set to meet today in one of the most anticipated matches of any English top flight season of football.
Occurring amid growing reports that Pep Guardiola is unlikely to sign a new contract as Man City manager, the match-up could turn out to be the iconic Spanish manager's last ever visit to Anfield.
Despite Liverpool and Man City's status as Premier League heavyweights, it would now take a miracle for Arne Slot's side to seriously challenge for the 2025/26 title, while rivals Man City will kick-off at Anfield some nine points behind league leaders Arsenal.
A victory for Liverpool would allow Arsenal to build a potentially unassailable lead at the summit of the Premier League, while the Reds themselves need to pick up every point available in order to break back into the Champions League qualification spots. They currently trail Man United by five points.
The fixture kicks off at 4.30pm.
