Poland stretch Group D lead to three points after thrashing Georgia

Poland zoomed three points clear of Ireland, before a ball was kicked at Celtic Park, with a comprehensive 4-0 victory over Georgia.

The hosts kept Poland scoreless going into the second-half but paid a hefty price for squandering possession and showing a lack of attacking ambition. Georgia held out a mere five minutes before a set-piece proved their downfall. A corner was whipped to the back-post, Grzegorz Krychowiak nodded back into the danger-zone and Kamil Glik headed home. Glik turned provider on 70 minutes as he teed up Krychowiak to lash home from six yards. The match was put emphatically to bed three minutes later (clip below) as Sebastian Mila cut inside his marker and curled home superbly from the edge of the box. Georgia were out on their feet with the game creeping towards injury time when Arkadiusz Milik tapped in to make it 4-0.
