PICS: When one fan jumped the gun with jersey number, Luke Shaw leaped to the rescue

You're dicing with danger when you decide to get your favourite player's name on the back of your jersey before the club's official squad numbers are released.

Robert Burke presumed that, being the first choice left back, that Luke Shaw would retain the number 3 jersey that he took upon his arrival at Old Trafford last summer. But Shaw had a change of heart during this pre-season and opted to take the number 23 shirt for the start of the 2015/16 campaign.

Burke revealed his heartbreak at the news after, just a week ago, he had gotten Shaw 3 on the back of his new United shirt .

But being the lovely young man that he is, Shaw direct-messaged the fan as he looked to do the right thing.
