Hopefully this will finally get Daniel Sturridge fully fit and back on the field
The Liverpool striker this evening confirmed that he has had surgery in a bid to correct a persistent hip problem.
Sturridge, who has missed the Reds' last five games in the latest setback of an injury-plagued campaign, flew to the US last week for further tests and the decision was taken to go under the knife.
The 25-year-old will now sit out Liverpool's final three games of this season but will hope to back to full fitness in time to take part in preseason training.
He posted a picture of him in hospital in Boston and told fans: “Just want to let the world know I’ve had a successful operation on my hip today and I want to thank God for allowing that to be possible. Onwards and upwards from here. Thanks for the support. Daniel x.”
