So many homages came in for Steven Gerrard yesterday that it almost became a competition between footballers to see who could post the best.

Mario Balotelli, Luis Suarez and Andrea Pirlo all honoured the departing Liverpool legend in their own special ways but our favourite post came from former Italy captain Fabio Cannavaro. The iconic defender made a right cock-up of his tribute as he made the rookie error of mistaking Gerrard for Frank Lampard. Cannavaro posted this picture on his Facebook account much to the excited delight of the football world before quickly deleting it. fabio Come on Fabio, even our mums knows the difference between the two.
