The Professional Footballers Association of Ireland (PFAI) have just released a statement this lunch time which offers the latest update on the ongoing saga between the Irish women's senior international football side and Irish football's governing body, the FAI.
A number of revelations were made yesterday regarding the issues which the women's team say need to be addressed before they can continue to represent their country on the football pitch.
In response, the FAI released a strongly-worded statement counter arguing these claims.
Stephanie Roche also revealed the pain that she and her colleagues are currently experiencing due to the current situation.

According to the statement, the players did not take the decision lightly but they "want the FAI to respect their right to choose their own representatives and have all the outstanding issues which are affecting their ability to achieve their maximum potential for their country resolved in a swift, amicable and professional manner."
Members of the team, SIPTU and the PFAI will meet with a mediator this evening.
The meeting will also be attended by representatives of the FAI.
The statement also reveals that the players are "encouraged by a communication sent to team members today sent by the FAI."
This evening's meeting is due to take place at 6pm so let's hope by tonight, this whole ordeal will be resolved.
