"When they lose or look tactically inept, it always full back into the scenario of how he got the job in the first place"
Peter Crouch believes that Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is vulnerable to criticism due to his lack of top-level experience as a manager.
Crouch was speaking on BT Sport after United came from 2-0 down to score three second-half goals against Atalanta and secure a vital win in the Champions League on Wednesday night.
Goals from Marcus Rashford, Harry Maguire and Cristiano Ronaldo completed an incredible turnaround at Old Trafford, however the former Liverpool and England striker Crouch believes that Solskjaer will always face criticism when his side don't play well due to his inexperience as a top-level manager.

Crouch also feels that the comparison between United's fellow title rivals also leaves the Norwegian vulnerable to being criticised so easily.
He said: "Ole’s issue is Thomas Tuchel, [Pep] Guardiola and [Jurgen] Klopp. Manchester United’s fans are looking at those three managers, the trophies they’ve won, their CVs of winning trophies and Champions Leagues.
"With all due respect to Ole, he’s come from Cardiff and Molde, not the same experience and he’s managing a club of Manchester United's stature and the club doesn’t have a manager that falls into the category that those clubs have.

"When they lose or look tactically inept, it always full back into the scenario of how he got the job in the first place and then looking enviably at the rest of the teams who are the best three teams in the league.
The pundit also claimed that whilst the Red Devils have the squad to compete for the Premier League title, but don't have the right man at the helm to win them a title.
Crouch said: "United do have a squad that can compete with these teams, but they’re not and what is the reason for that? And that is the reason we keep going back to the manager."
