The legendary footballer is in hospital in Sao Paulo
Worrying news emerging from a Sao Paulo hospital this evening that Pele is now being described as being in intensive care.
The Brazilian, who is widely thought of as one of the greatest footballers of all time, was admitted earlier this week with what's described as a 'urinary tract infection'.
However, it now appears that his condition has worsened this evening.
The Albert Einstein clinic issued a statement to say that the 74-year-old has been moved to a special unit in the hospital
"Edson Arantes do Nascimento (Pele) remains in hospital.
"To receive the best care he was transferred in order to be monitored in a special care unit."
Let's hope the O Rei can pull through this latest health scare.
UPDATE: 17.30: There is good news out of Brazil as it is now being reported that Pele was only moved to a special unit so that the number of visitors to the living legend could be controlled. He is on a course of anti-biotics for his condition but it is now expected that he will be able to leave hospital in a few days.
