Paul Pogba and Alexis Sanchez’s goal bonuses have caused dressing room row at Manchester United

The rest of the squad are reportedly not happy with the pay disparity.

Not all is well at Manchester United. After Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's incredible start to his reign in the dugout, their form has taken a nosedive ever since he was given the job on a permanent basis. A knock-on effect of this has of course been the positive atmosphere at the club vanishing and crippling uncertainty around the club's future returning. The squad are also apparently in the middle of a fall-out, with national newspapers reporting that the astronomical goal bonuses paid to Paul Pogba and Alexis Sanchez have caused a divide between the pair and the rest of the squad. Sanchez is the highest earner at the club, reported being paid £500,000 per week and an extra £75,000 for every goal and £20,000 for every assist. Pogba meanwhile receives a reported £50,000 bonus for every goal he scores and £20,000 for every assist. That could explain why the pair argued over who took a penalty back in October. The disparity between the pair's pay packets and the rest of the squad has angered other players, quite understandably given Sanchez's lack of form in particular.

A source is reported to have told the Sun: "The real problem is the incentive plan.

"It has caused a lot of animosity and is as responsible for the lack of the recent failure of team spirit as anything else."

Both Sanchez and Pogba have been linked with moves away from United this summer but given their current contracts, it could prove difficult to move them on. Mino Raiola's ban from brokering transfers also throws a spanner in the works for Pogba, his most high profile client.
