Wow.

While FA Cup traditionalists might like to see Premier League clubs field their strongest XI against lower league sides, there's a reason why managers are paid big salaries - mainly because they've got to, you know, actually, manage their players. A perfect case of this is Claude Puel at Leicester City. After being dismissed by Southampton, the Frenchman swiftly returned to the Premier League in October as Craig Shakespeare’s successor at the King Power and he's improved their form considerably. At the moment, The Foxes are playing against Peterborough United in the FA Cup and they're looking very, very comfortable. Before kick-off, Puel made a raft of changes to his side and Merson was heavily critical of the Leicester manager for doing so. "I think it's disgraceful, I really do. I think this (Leicester) is the one team in the Premier League - bar the top six - that can't get into Europe, they can't get relegated. This is it...the FA Cup. I mean it's unbelievable." The pundit then said that Puel's selection was "a joke." Yeah, it took Leicester 29 minutes to race into a 0-3 lead against the League One side thanks to goals from Diabate and an Iheanacho brace. Even Sky Sports had to call Merson up on that remark. Ah well, nobody gets them all right. https://twitter.com/SoccerSaturday/status/957227337833213953 https://twitter.com/SoccerSaturday/status/957234659204755457
