Lucas has been earning kudos for his stunning performance for Liverpool in the Capital One Cup final on Sunday.
The Brazilian normally plays as a defensive midfielder for the Reds, but he started at centre-back against Manchester City.
Despite his side losing the game on penalties, Lucas shone in the more defensive role by making several key interceptions and tackles throughout the match. Although he failed to convert his spot-kick in the shoot-out, the general consensus is that he was one of the bright sparks for Liverpool in the loss.
Even legendary Ireland defender Paul McGrath has been singing Lucas' praises. After the match, McGrath congratulated Man City on the victory and praised the Brazilian for making the art of defending look like a cake-walk.
