Parma’s awful decline as a football club has just got even more tragic

We'll spare you all the jokes about how Manchester City could finally get their hands on a European trophy after it was announced that former Italian top flight side Parma are auctioning off their silverware to try and pay the bills. The club, that once boasted Hernan Crespo, Lilian Thuram, Fabio Cannavaro and Gianluigi Buffon in its ranks, is bankrupt and is starting the new season in Italy in Serie D under a new name after being dissolved last season with debts of over €200 million.
