Park Ji-Sung has asked Manchester United fans to stop singing a chant about him as it contains a racial insult to Korean people. The former United midfielder has stated that although he knows fans don't mean to cause offence when they sing the chant - which includes a reference to Koreans eating dog meat - he wants to educate supporters about why the words being sung are hurtful to both him and his compatriots. When Wolverhampton Wanderers unveiled their new signing Hwang Hee-chan in August, Ji-Sung spoke out after he heard away fans at the Molineux chanting his 'song'. "I’m really sorry for him to hear that," the 40-year-old the UTD Podcast. "I know that United fans don’t mean any offence to him for that song but still I have to educate the fans to stop that word [dog meat], which is usually these days a racial insult to the Korean people. Manchester United have said that they fully support the request made by Park - asking supporters to respect the wishes of the player that spent seven years at Old Trafford.
