Louis van Gaal is hanging on at Old Trafford despite all the naysayers who said he would lose his job after some terrible results and performances.
The Dutchman is preparing his side for the final few games in the Premier League season, while his charges also have an FA Cup replay to look forward to.
Speculation suggests he will still be turfed out of Old Trafford this summer, but the chances of him leaving have been increased with reports he may have a new job already waiting for him in the Dutch FA.
The Independent are reporting his morning that the 64-year-old has been approached about taking a role as technical director with task of rebuilding the national team at their enhanced football centre of excellence, due to open this summer.
Van Gaal led the Netherlands to the World Cup semi-final in 2014, and took over at Old Trafford that summer and while he has denied previously any interest in returning to work with the Oranje, a job as technical director would suit him as he winds down into retirement.
Van Gaal still has a year to run on his contract at Manchester united, but it seems almost certain his time at the club will be brought to an end, either mutually, or forcibly this summer.
