Third in the Premier League but no individual deemed good enough for a nomination.
The nominees for the Player and Young Player of the Year were announced by the Professional Footballers’ Association (PFA) on Thursday morning and surprises are few and far between.
Chelsea lead the way with two nominees for the Player of the Year award in Eden Hazard and N’Golo Kante, with Spurs striker Harry Kane, Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Romelu Lukaku and Alexis Sanchez also getting the nod from their fellow professionals.

Kane and Lukaku have also bagged themselves a nomination for the Young Player of the Year award, while Dele Alli – who can perhaps consider himself unlucky not to have been nominated for Player of the Year – will be seeking to win it for the second year in a row.
Burnley defender Michael Keane, Sunderland goalkeeper Jordan Pickford and Manchester City’s Leroy Sané are also up for the Young Player of the Year award.
Liverpool are in third and have scored the most goals [68] but that, it seems, was not enough for the voting players.
The winners of both awards, as well as the winners of the women's Player and Young Player of the Year, will be announced at a ceremony in the Grosvenor House in London on Sunday, April 23.
