The Scot guided Manchester United was triumphant in the first two finals he reached as manager of the Red Devils (1999 and 2008) but came unstuck against Barcelona in both 2009 and 2011.
Several legendary players have featured in those games while lesser known players have also managed to claim starting places in the biggest game for European football clubs.
