Monaghan native wins almost €250,000 from €1 accumulator bet

We have definitive proof that the luckiest person in Ireland lives in Monaghan.

A lucky Irish gambler won a whopping €245,668 from a meagre €1 bet yesterday. The anonymous person, from Co Monaghan, took home the astonishing sum of money after their ten-fold WDW and both teams to score bet came through. Then Ezequiel Lavezzi came to the rescue, oddly enough, also in the 84th minute for PSG as they triumphed over Metz 3-2. The bet almost fell through on Saturday because of the Arsenal v Man Utd match, but fortunately Olivier Giroud's stoppage time goal at the Emirates kept if running until the final day. The person in question would have had had a tough time of it yesterday. It took 85 minutes for Marseille to take the lead against Bordeaux, thanks to striker Andre-Pierre Gignac.
