Liverpool talisman Mohamed Salah has seemingly ended his silence regarding his contract situation at the club with a cryptic address to fans on social media.
The 32-year-old was the hero once again at Anfield yesterday as his stunning second half strike against Brighton ensured a two-point gap at the top of the Premier League table, clear of Pep Guardiola's Manchester City who dropped points away to Bournemouth.
His winner at the Kop end on Saturday saw him overtake Robbie Fowler as the eighth-highest goalscorer in Premier League history, providing another entry in the history books for a player who has no shortage of mentions.
"Top of the table is where this club belongs," Salah wrote. "Nothing less. All teams win matches but there’s only 1 champion in the end."
He continued: "That’s what we want. Thank you for your support last night. No matter what happens, I will never forget what scoring at Anfield feels like."
The ambiguity contained within the post created anxiety within the comments section underneath, as one fan begged: "Please, please, please stay."
Another commented: "Sign it Mo!", referring to the contract that is due to run out at the end of this season.
The Reds rejected a bid believed to have been worth £150m for Salah from Saudi Pro League side Al Ittihad at the end of last year's summer transfer window, and it remains to be seen if similar offers could test the resolve of decision-makers at the club in January.
Salah has spent seven years at Liverpool, and has netted 160 goals for the club in the Premier League - a record total by some distance.

Reflecting on your side’s season, you can always turn to the trusty VAR for an underperforming campaign. Every side has their individual case at some point though, we’ve all had major decisions go against us, and when […]
