Mo Salah becomes first player since Cristiano Ronaldo to match Premier League goalscoring feat

Liverpool forward Mohamed Salah has become the first Premier League player since Cristiano Ronaldo to score over 40 goals in all competitions.

Salah scored the second of three goals for Liverpool on Saturday as the Reds cruised to a 3-0 win over Bournemouth with the goal marking the Egyptian's 40th goal in all competitions. Salah is currently just seven goals behind Ian Rush's singular season club record of 47 goals scored in the 1983/84 season. Liverpool's front three of Mane, Firmino and Salah have already set a club record of their own this season with their 79 goals combined goals in the current campaign the most of any three Liverpool players in a single season. Saturday's win for Liverpool brings Jurgen Klopp's side to within one-point of second placed Manchester United who play on Sunday against bottom placed West Bromwich Albion.
