Manchester City ended Liverpool's unbeaten run in the Premier League last night to cut the gap at the top of the table to just four points with a 2-1 victory.
City took the lead through Sergio Aguero in the first half, having dominated possession of the ball for the majority of the first 45 minutes. Liverpool responded by changing formations and equalised through a Roberto Firmino diving header in the second half.

The game hung in the balance until a City counter-attack was finished off with a vintage Leroy Sane finish, which crept over the line after hitting the inside of the post. The reigning champions managed to hold on for all three points in a hugely significant game in this season's title race.
But the most entertaining part of the evening arguably came after the final whistle, when City left-back Benjamin Mendy was mistaken for a pitch invader.
The French international has missed most of this season through injury and was therefore not included in the matchday squad, but he was watching with his teammates, dressed in his own, casual clothes.
Donning a bright orange puffa coat and wooly hat, he was wrongly identified as a fan entering the pitch, which prompted two stewards to chase him across the turf.
Upon realising who he was, not wanting to embarrass themselves more than they already had, the pair of stewards continued to run to the match officials.
