Martin O’Neill hands out more chances as he names Ireland team to face Slovakia

Martin O'Neill has named his team to face Slovakia and there are 10 changes from the starting XI that faces Switzerland on Friday night. With Jon Walters, Robbie Keane, Daryl Murphy and Kevin Doyle having joined the like of Jeff Hendrick and Harry Arter on the injury list, there is a dearth of attacking options available for the manager, so Shane Long starts up front with James McClean likely to fill a supporting role. But the Irish line-up in their final March friendly at the Aviva with a new-look team after Friday's 1-0 win over Switzerland and it could be the last chance a number of these boys have of making the 23-man squad for France. Rob Elliot starts as expected in goal, while full-backs Cyrus Christie and Stephen Ward could nail down spots with impressive outings. Paul McShane needs a big game alongside captain John O'Shea to make the cut.
