Decision-making is not Mark Clattenburg's strong suit. It's not like that characteristic is important for a football referee or anything like that.
The official has reportedly been dropped for this weekend's round of matches after disobeying protocol to go see an Ed Sheeran show after overseeing West Brom's 2-2 draw with Crystal Palace on Saturday.
The Daily Mail reports that "Premier League regulations require the referee and his assistants to travel together to and from games for integrity and security purposes" and that Clattenburg failed to adhere to this rule by running off to see the ginger one perform at Newcastle's Metro Radio Arena.
Clattenburg obviously follows the theory that "when you're in trouble for one thing, you may as well take advantage of the situation and get in trouble for more," as he has also found himself in hot water for speaking to Crystal Palace manager Neil Warnock after the game without another official present.
While the conversation was more than likely - "Alright Neil, I don't have time to talk now. I'm gonna miss that one about the lego house," the Professional Game Match Officials do not take too kindly to that behaviour.
Regardless, we won't see Mark until the next round of Champions League fixtures but let's hope he doesn't get Arsenal-Anderlecht because Sam Smith is playing in London that week.
