Marek Hamsik has been denied being in with a shot at 'goal of the season' after his speculative effort for Turkish side Trabzonspor was controversially ruled out. The experienced Slovakian was taking a free-kick for his side, before deciding to try his luck from the half-way line and boy did it pay off as the ball looped over the helpless Kayserispor keeper. The rule might be a confusing one, but on this occasion it seems the referee was absolutely right to rule the goal out.
