Marcus Rashford's stunning rise couldn't have come at a better time, both for him and Manchester United.
The young striker is still on his first professional deal, earning £1,500 a week, but that deal runs out at the end of next season, so United were already eager to tie the 18-year-old to a long-term deal. But Rashford's incredible breakthrough, which has seen him potentially keep United's season alive with a pair of two-goal performances in the Europa League against Midtjylland and the Premier League against Arsenal, has created a fresh sense of urgency at Old Trafford.
