Manchester United legends buzzing as Salford City draw another big team in FA Cup second round

If you're into the old 'magic of the FA Cup' stuff, you won't have failed to be inspired by lowly Salford City.

The brilliant story of the club's take over by  Manchester United's famous 'Class of 92' was featured in a two-part documentary. But in the same week as the programme hit our screens Salford were playing on TV in their first ever FA Cup first round game with Notts County. And in true magical FA Cup style the David of Salford slayed the Goliath of League Two side County in a historic 2-0 victory - including a fantastic finish from Richie Allen. You only had to look at the reaction of former Red Devils Gary Neville, Paul Scholes and Nicky Butt to see what it meant to the Northern Premier League Premier Division club. So obviously all eyes were on the draw for the second round to see who Salford were to face next... and they got the big tie that the fans were hoping for. Hartlepool United at home.
