Manchester United flop is latest target for Chinese Super League clubs

If China can’t have Wayne Rooney, then they want the next best thing.

Well not quite, but it seems that reports this morning suggest that clubs in Asia are looking to Crystal Palace flyer, and ex-Manchester United winger, Wilfried Zaha as their latest plaything. Zaha has been a regular for Alan Pardew’s side this term after resurrecting his career with the Londonders after an ill-fated spell in Manchester. He hasn’t been terrific this season, but neither has he been awful, as he’s scored three times in 30 appearances for the Eagles this term. According to The Sun this morning, Zaha is being courted by Chinese Super League club Beijing Guoan. The newspaper is reporting that the winger is being tempted by a £15million move east, the same fee he was signed for by Alex Ferguson in one of his final acts as Manchester United boss. The Chinese league has signed up a number of older players for the current campaign, but a move for a 23-year-old, who still has much to prove, and improve on, would be seen as a surprising move for the ambitious attacker.
