Manchester United advertise for new job as the club aims to revamp recruitment

After an underwhelming summer transfer window, Manchester United are looking to shake up their recruitment process.

United have publicly advertised for the position of a recruitment analyst as the club aims improve its scouting procedure, according to a report in Manchester Evening News. According to the job advert, the new hire will "generate quantitative and qualitative data that supports decision making in the identification of players with the potential to play for MUFC." A major restructure is currently underway at Old Trafford and executive vice-chairman Ed Woodward is eager to minimise any potential risks when it comes to future transfers by bringing in a new role which will involve the collating and analysis of "MUFC specific technical, tactical and physical benchmarks." The Red Devils failed to bring in several of Jose Mourinho's top targets in the summer, a fact that the United boss is none too pleased about. Days before it emerged that the club also intends to appoint its first-ever director of football, Mourinho admitted that managers' roles had changed in the modern game. "I had my plans for many months and I find myself with the market closed in a situation I did not think I would be in," Mourinho said after United's first game of the season. "I think football is changing and managers should be called head coaches."
