Jadon Sancho has further tarnished his relationship with Manchester United supporters after they spotted some dramatic activity on his social media pages since signing for their Premier League rivals on transfer deadline day.
The 24-year-old from south London signed for the Blues on a loan with obligation-to-buy deal on Friday, bidding farewell to a turbulent four years at Old Trafford.
Sancho fell out with United boss Erik Ten Hag at the beginning of last season after he was left out of the travelling squad to face Arsenal at the Emirates.
In a post-match interview after United were beaten 3-1 by Mikel Arteta's side, Ten Hag claimed Sancho was absent because he had not trained to the standard required before the game.
Sancho responded with a tweet that disputed this and which in essence called Ten Hag a liar.
Four months later and with Sancho reluctant to apologise to Dutchman, he left Manchester to return on loan to his former club Borussia Dortmund, with whom he went on to reach the Champions League final in May.
One of the hints for United fans that the player was never truly committed to the club is his Instagram profile.
Despite returning to training for Manchester United in early July, the winger’s social media feed remained emblazoned with pictures from his Borussia Dortmund spell, and no mention of the Red Devils.
Now, after securing his move to Chelsea, he has finally posted a picture wearing a United shirt – with a fairly lacklustre goodbye message.
He wrote: “Thank you to all the fans, staff and teammates @manchesterunited Wishing everyone all the best in the future.”
That message can be viewed in stark contrast to a post from June in which Sancho bid an emotional farewell once again to Dortmund and its fans.
"What a crazy 6 months," he wrote.
"We win together we lose together, these moments only make us stronger! I’m so grateful to be apart of such an amazing group of players!
"I want to thank everyone involved at such an amazing club. I can’t thank you enough for welcoming me back the way you all have during these last 6 months," he added.
"Thank you to Edin Terzić, Sebastian Kehl and Hans-Joachim Watzke for believing in me and bringing me back.
"Finally a special thank you to the BVB fans. Your support is amazing and I’m forever thankful for you all!"
Furthermore, many United fans have also spotted that Sancho appears to have removed several posts featuring him in a Red Devils shirt since the Chelsea move went through on Friday.
Aside from wishing that the loan goes moderately well enough for Sancho’s loan to turn permanent with no hitches, his former fans won’t wish him too much luck for the future.
The creative playmaker will have his work cut out for him in west London, as fellow attackers Cole Palmer, Pedro Neto, Noni Madueke, Christopher Nkunku, Mykhailo Mudryk and Joao Felix will all be hoping for a place in Enzo Maresca's starting line-up.
