Man United had earlier closed down their training ground for 24 hours due to a coronavirus outbreak within their squad, with the relevant individuals who tested positive isolating. The club announced that they were working with the Premier League to decide if it is safe for them to play against Brentford, 'both from a Covid infection and player preparation perspective'. The match has since been postponed. United recorded a number of positive Covid-19 tests among players and staff after their 1-0 win at Norwich on Saturday evening.  They reported the cases to the Premier League and it is understood that all players tested negative before the Norwich game.
