Maguire and Coleman back but it’s all about Declan Rice as Ireland squad named

Good news all round.

The Ireland squad has been named for their upcoming International Friendly game against Turkey that will take place in the Aviva Stadium later this month. Martin O'Neill has handed call-ups to a host of fresh faces for the clash, with Kieran O'Hara, Declan Rice, Enda Stevens, Darragh Lenihan and Derrick Williams named in the senior squad for the first time in their careers. In other good news, Seamus Coleman is back for the first time since his horror leg break suffered against Wales last year. Sean Maguire, fresh from his recent heroics off the bench for Preston North End is also back in the mix after a hamstring injury that kept him out for three months. https://twitter.com/FAIreland/status/971718619397750785 The most notable inclusion of all, however, is that of Declan Rice. The 19-year-old West Ham defender was born in London, but has represented Ireland at under-16, 17, 19 and under-21 level. His Cork grandparents qualify him for inclusion for the Republic of Ireland. This will be his first time in the senior squad and puts paid to those rumours of him declaring for England. He has played 18 games for West Ham in the Premier League so far this season.
