Luke Hyam admits that his “head had gone” as he apologises for breaking Alan Judge’s leg

Alan Judge's season is over and it came to a close in the most painful of circumstances.

The Brentford and Republic of Ireland midfielder will play no part in the Bees' bid for promotion to the Premier League nor Ireland's Euro 2016 adventure as he suffered a double leg fracture on Saturday afternoon. The Ipswich midfielder was sent off later in the game and has since issued an apology to Judge after learning of the extent of his injury and admits he is left "distraught." "I'd like to contact him in a day or so and give him my best and say how sorry I am," Hyam told Ipswich's club website. "I feel distraught over it. It was distressing to see and definitely affected me. My head had gone. "I know the Brentford lads were getting into me but I should never have reacted the way I did to get sent off. "I've been out injured for a year myself and the last thing I want to see is a fellow pro getting injured like that."
