Loris Karius puts Champions League humiliation behind him with self-promotional video

The Hollywood hills seems about as good as a location as any to escape international humiliation.
Liverpool goalkeeper Loris Karius was publicly embarrassed back in May when he conceded two all-time howlers in the Reds Champions League final loss to Real Madrid in Kiev. Karius was later diagnosed with concussion by Dr. Ross Zafonte and Dr. Lenore Herget in Boston at Massachusetts General Hospital over one week after the loss and it seems he remained there for a considerable amount of time after his diagnosis before returning to Liverpool pre-season training earlier this week. The 25-year-old released a video on his Instagram account of him running around Los Angeles, jumping in swimming pools, playing ping pong, drenching himself in water and eating ice cream as he tries to move on from the worst night of his professional football career. Former Liverpool midfielder and compatriot Didi Hamann said that his sympathy for Karius was limited after the Champions League final loss to Madrid and that your ego cannot outweigh your performance at the club."Liverpool fans forgive their stars just as well as any other, the anthem 'You'll Never Walk Alone' is part of life at the club," Hamann told Sports Bild. "With one exception: when your ego doesn't match your performance. "Karius drives through Liverpool with the personalised number plates 'LK1' and makes waves in the city whenever he steps out. "Having airs like that is something Cristiano Ronaldo, alias CR7, can pull off in Madrid, because he has won the Champions League five times. "Someone like Karius has not achieved anything yet in his career and should be happy to have been given the chance by Klopp at a world-class club."
