Liverpool's first summer signing may not be the high-profile name many fans were hoping for but Loris Karius will provide some much-needed competition between the sticks.
Jurgen Klopp has made no secret of the fact that he wants a reliable goalkeeper to keep Simon Mignolet on his toes and he's close to securing just that with the news that Mainz stopper Karius has arrived in England.
Karius is set to undergo a medical at Liverpool in the next 24 hours ahead of a €6 million move to Anfield.
Klopp has been keeping tabs on the German U21 international through his connections at Mainz, the club at which Klopp began his managerial career, and he likes what he sees.
Should he pass his medical, Karius' arrival is expected to be announced by Liverpool this week and he's certainly got the footwork to excite Reds fans.
