A late Ludogorets goal has heaped even more pressure on Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers whose side haven't seen a victory since a Capital One Cup win over Swansea on 28 October.
Liverpool fell behind early to the Bulgarian champions when Simon Mignolet failed to deal with a relatively simple shot and Dani Abalo pounced on the misplaced parry.
But there was reason to be hopeful after Liverpool responded before halftime thanks to goals from Rickie Lambert and Jordan Henderson but Merseyside hearts were broken when Georgi Terziev was given space to head home in the 88th minute.
The 2-2 draw means that Liverpool will have to beat Basel to ensure that they go through to the knockout stages.
The draw comes three days after Liverpool were overturned 3-1 by Crystal Palace, again conceding late on in the game.
Concentration, or lack thereof, seems to be the main issue at Anfield at the minute.
Mignolet is displaying the focus of a three year old being told how to tie his laces and the defence as a whole seem to just allow their attention to drift off once the 70th minute arrives.
But Brendan Rodgers refused to get bogged down in the negativity of the late Ludogorets goal and praised the effort of his players in Bulgaria.
He said: "Great effort by the players tonight, they were outstanding.
" I was very pleased with the performance."
All to play for at Anfield against the Swiss side then.
