Liverpool look to Bournemouth in attempt to bolster goalscoring options this summer

Liverpool want a young English striker whose progress has been stalled by injury to start scoring goals for them.

And no, we're not talking about Daniel Sturridge. It is, in fact, Callum Wilson who has drawn an interested eye from Jurgen Klopp ahead of the summer transfer window. The Bournemouth striker saw his debut Premier League season ruined by a ruptured anterior cruciate ligament in his right knee back in September, which ruled him out for the best part of six months. Wilson, who got his season off to a cracker with four goals in six starts for the Cherries, is believed to be at the centre of a transfer bidding war between Liverpool and Tottenham come the end of the season. The Sunday Express claim that Klopp wants the 24-year-old to improve his options up front, with Daniel Sturridge having maintained his injury prone reputation over the past season. And with Christian Benteke flattering to deceive in his first year with the Reds, Wilson is thought to be the solution to the striking problem.
