It's been a quiet first transfer window for Jurgen Klopp.

The Liverpool manager has signed Steven Caulker on-loan, and Marko Grujic from Red Star Belgrade, with the youngster returning to the Serbian club for the remainder of the season. Reds fans hoping for the club to make a late splash in the window may be disappointed, but they appear to be planning well for the summer. According to Chris Bascombe, a football writer for the Daily Telegraph, the club have opened contact with Coventry City over talented midfielder James Maddison.GettyImages-472047368The 19 year old made his debut for the League One side last season, and has scored four goals in 34 games, attracting attention from Premier League scouts. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W6HZ8wHjUNg Any deal for Maddison looks unlikely to happen before the deadline, but if a deal can be completed, the attacking midfielder would return to Coventry on-loan for the remainder of the season. Tottenham Hotspur landed a bargain when they bought Delle Alli, a young, talented, attacking midfielder, from MK Dons last summer, Liverpool fans will be hoping Maddison can have a similar impact should he arrive. He's also eligible to play for the Republic of Ireland through a grandparent.
