Liverpool goalkeeper Adrian is a doubt for the Reds trip to Southampton this weekend after he was injured by an encroaching fan after the UEFA Super Cup final on Wednesday.

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp confirmed during his pre-match press conference on Friday morning the club’s medical team will need to assess Adrian’s ankle issue prior to the journey to St Mary’s. Liverpool third-choice goalkeeper Andy Lonergan is now on stand-by for Saturday's game with Ireland underage goalkeeper Caoimhin Kelleher potentially in line for a bench spot if he makes his way through training. "He is an outstanding talent. Outstanding,” Liverpool boss Klopp said of Kelleher after his side’s win against Napoli in Dublin last year.
 “He is very cool with the ball. He played in front of 100,000 people in a pre-season game, he has played in front of 60,000, so he isn’t really bothered about that. [It’s] a very important skill”
“He has fantastic reactions. If nothing serious happens, he has a really fantastic future. I don’t know how many really good goalkeepers Ireland have, but one more is never a big mistake. I like him a lot and I’m happy that we have him in our squad.”
