Liverpool are getting plenty of business out of the way early this summer, with Danny Ings now confirmed as their second signing of the offseason.
The 22-year-old Burnley forward, who scored 11 Premier League goals in his first season in the top flight, is out of contract at Turf Moor and will make it official on July 1, subject to a medical.
The club have agreed personal terms, with a transfer fee yet to be agreed. Liverpool are hopeful for a compensation figure of around £5million for the England Under-21 forward and are seeking to come to a deal with Burnley before one is imposed by a tribunal.
Ings will join James Milner, who agreed to join Liverpool last week, on Merseyside next season and will strengthen an attack that found goals extremely hard to come by last season.
With Mario Balotelli, Rickie Lambert and Fabio Borini all set to leave the club, Ings joins Daniel Sturridge and incoming Belgium frontman Divock Origi as striking options for Brendan Rodgers, but with Sturridge likely to start the new season on the sidelines, another established forward will be on the club's shopping list.
