ITV Sport presenter Laura Woods collapsed while presenting coverage of England vs Ghana on Tuesday night, and had to be caught by Arsenal and Three Lions legend Ian Wright who was working alongside her as a pundit.
Woods had been leading ITV's coverage of the Lionesses' final match of 2025, at St Mary's in Southampton.
During pre-match coverage, Woods could be seen starting to lose her balance, before stumbling towards Wright. ITV then cut away access to the stream. They soon cut to an advert break.
The 38-year-old ITV and TNT Sports presenter has since taken to Instagram to reveal the cause behind her momentary collapse.
Woods wrote: "Gosh that was a bit weird, " before adding: "Sorry to worry everyone, i’m ok, the wonderful paramedics at Saints have said it's probably a virus, just need a bit of rest & hydration.
"I’m really embarrassed that happened on tv, but a big thank you to my colleagues at ITV who have really looked after me tonight. And to Wright & Neets for catching me and sorry again.”
Scenes of Woods' collapse were shared thousands of times on social media, and the presenter received hundreds of positive messages from football fans.
This prompted Woods fiance, former Love Island contestant Adam Collard to take to Twitter/X to provide an update of his own.
Collard said: "Laura is all ok and with the right people.
"Thank you for all of your kind messages."
Woods is one of the best known figures in English football, and has been a regular fixture across some of the biggest games over the past decade, working for ITV, TNT and TalkSport.
