LA Galaxy offer Robbie Keane injury update we all want to hear

Ireland's record goal-scorer is on course for his third major championship.
The sight (on Instagram) of Robbie Keane's leg strapped up and half concealed by a hospital gown, last week, caused considerable flutters. While Ireland were reflecting on a 2-2 draw with Slovakia, the LA Galaxy striker underwent surgery to mend his ailing knee. https://twitter.com/SportsJOEdotie/status/715679760207245312 Keane assured fans, club and international, that he would be back sooner rather than later. Last night, Galaxy coach Bruce Arena provided a further, positive update. Arena commented:"He needed it; he had some loose pieces in his knee and needed to have those removed. It’s a fairly normal [occurrence]. "It’s cartilage and a lot of players have some type of issue with their knees at some point. He should be fine. I’d say in close to a month, he’ll be back to full speed."At 35, full speed is somewhat reduced from Keane's heyday with Leeds, Spurs and the national side. Keane is expected to get back playing by early May. That puts him in contention for the final two friendlies - The Netherlands and Belarus - before Euro 2016.
