‘I would have kicked the ball and all three of them over the line with it’ – ITV react to goalmouth scramble

Former Manchester United midfielder Roy Keane has said that he would have scored a goal and taken three Iranian players with the ball if he had played in Spain's 1-0 win over Iran on Wednesday.
A second-half goal from Diego Costa was ultimately the difference between the two sides in Tatarstan but Spain could have easily had a second goal if it had not have been for some brave defending from the Iranians. Spain went short from a corner to midfielder Andres Iniesta who cut the ball back to Sergio Ramos who then fired a shot towards goal where multiple Iranian defenders threw themselves in front of the ball to stop what would have been a certain goal from Costa. The former United captain was in rare form on Wednesday but he did have a pop at his former assistant manager, and current Iran boss Carlos Queiroz, for what he felt was a disrespectful attitude shown towards him near the end of his time at Old Trafford."For some reason towards the end of my time I found him really disrespectful towards me," said Keane on ITV's pre-match show. "He questioned my loyalty and I told him where to go but one of my big regrets really was that I probably should have ripped his head off. "But excellent coach and he's doing an excellent job it has to be said."
