Manchester City have upped their offer for Belgian superstar Kevin de Bruyne to €70million
The Premier League side have already has a €66million offer rejected by German side Wolfsburg, who are holding out for a fee of €80million, according to the Mirror.
De Bruyne is thought to be happy to make the move but is not willing to force the issue, and with City prepared to offer more than €280,000 per week over a six-year deal, the winger could end up costing the club's Abu Dhabi backers more than €170million.
Having already shelled out a record fee for an English player in meeting Liverpool's valuation of Raheem Sterling, City are unlikely to be put off by Wolfsburg's asking price, which would represent an astonishing profit on the €22million fee paid to Chelsea for De Bruyne in January of last year.
