Jurgen Klopp reveals news on Philippe Coutinho no Liverpool fan wants to hear

Phillippe Coutinho surely envisioned a rosier January.

Jurgen Klopp has, this morning, confirmed that the Brazilian midfielder will be out of action for the rest of this month. The 23-year-old pulled his hamstring in Liverpool's 1-0 League Cup semi final win over Stoke City, on Tuesday. Coutinho's hamstring injury is the sixth of his kind in the Liverpool squad in recent weeks. During the same match, Dejan Lovren suffered the same blow while Kolo Toure limped off with cramp. Klopp says all three players will miss Friday's FA Cup third round against Exeter. Lovren will also miss the upcoming league games with Arsenal and Manchester United while Coutinho will be out even longer. The German said, "Coutinho is more serious than Dejan. Kolo is only cramp but it won't be possible for him to play the next game." "Lovren should be back after United," he added. "Coutinho will need a few weeks longer." Coutinho has played 23 games for The Reds this season, contributing six goals and three assists. Liverpool are scheduled to play eight games during the month of January, which is certainly not going to ease their current injury conundrum. After they play Exeter, the squad have five days off until their next game. Klopp remarked, "That is nearly a break. Maybe I will go on holiday."
