Jurgen Klopp is keen on bringing Europe’s deadliest striker to Liverpool

"Lewandowski" would sound bloody terrific in a Scouse accent.

This morning's papers are linking new Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp with a swoop for high-flying Bayern Munich forward Robert Lewandowski. Klopp brought the Polish striker to Borussia Dortmund in 2010 for a fee of €4.5 million and Lewandowski went on to score 103 goals in 186 appearances before moving to Munich last summer. But Lewandoski's future in the Bundesliga has been brought into question with the player's agent being quoted last week as saying that offers from Barcelona or Real Madrid could tempt Lewandowski away from the Allianz Arena. Those comments were made before Klopp signed on the dotted line at Liverpool and the prospect of playing under the manager who gave him his big break could be too much for Lewandowski to resist. The Reds already have a pretty packed front line of Christian Benteke, Daniel Sturridge and Danny Ings but have scored the fewest goals of any club in the top 10 of the Premier League with eight. And it's understood that Klopp would jump at the chance to bring Lewandowski, who's scored 14 goals in the last fortnight, to Anfield if the forward decides to leave Bayern.
