Jose Mourinho’s future now lies in Jurgen Klopp’s hands

Jose Mourinho is under severe pressure at the moment and needs a league win very, very soon. Unfortunately for him, Chelsea's next fixture in the competition is against a team who don't know how to lose.

Liverpool are struggling to win, too, but they will be a tough prospect for a Chelsea side sitting uncomfortably in 15th position. Various media outlets are running with reports, this morning, that Mourinho could be drop-kicked out of Stamford Bridge if Chelsea lose their sixth league game of the season, this Saturday. The league champions are away to Stoke in the League Cup, tomorrow evening, but Liverpool at home is now red-circled as a must-win by Blues owner Roman Abramovich. League form was already in a trough when Mourinho publicly lambasted and humiliated club physio Eva Caneiro for the temeritous step of treating an injured Eden Hazard. The Chelsea boss then named and shamed senior members of his squad - the same guys that brought silverware to the club - for letting him, and the fans, down. Added to that are the constant run-ins with match officials and the FA. Mourinho, who was on a suspended stadium ban before the defeat to West Ham, was sent to the stands after he approached the referee for a half-time "discussion" at the Boelyn Grounds. Abramovich is concerned that the club's public image is enduring a right shoeing. Allied to poor results and Mouriho's perma-truculence and an ultimatum has been set - beat Liverpool or come see us; lose and you are gone. Jurgen Klopp will be a mere four games into his Liverpool reign when he goes head-to-head with Mourinho [if he is allowed into Stamford Bridge]. The newly appointed German could well bring a premature end to Mourinho's second coming.
