Jose Mourinho will get to *manage* at Old Trafford this year

If he gets a foot in the door there could be no stopping him.

Jose Mourinho is still a hot favourite to take over as the next Manchester United manager this summer. Tuesday's football gossip columns may have linked the 'Special One' to a job with PSG and Paris, but we're simply not buying it. Louis van Gaal of course still has a job, and perhaps may even get to begin next season still in charge, away from the spectre of the ex-Inter-Milan boss over his shoulder. But it's doubtful. Mourinho has expressed his long-standing desire to coach at the home of Manchester United ever since he was snubbed for the role and David Moyes was appointed instead as Alex Ferguson's successor. However, now it seems that the Portuguese will get a chance to find out what life is like in the dugout this summer as he takes charge of a charity XI in June. The ex-Chelsea boss will manage a celebrity England side in this year’s Soccer Aid game, and he will be assisted by Sam Allardyce and singer Robbie Williams. Bizarrely, Mourinho will be up against a team managed by Claudio Ranieri, who will be coaching the Rest of the World team. According to the Independent, Mourinho is delighted to be involved with the charity once again and is secretly doing a jig at sitting in the dugout to test out the comfy leather seats.

"I want to be the first one to win the Soccer Aid trophy for both teams, England and the Rest of the World. "Sam and I will make a very good partnership and it will be a great feeling for Claudio to finally lose a match! I hope the organisers can help me now with an English passport!"
