The Real Madrid centre-back had to settle for a place on the subs bench as Jose Mourinho oddly chose to give a starting spot to Ricardo Carvalho in the middle of his defence. The Chelsea boss was naming his ultimate XI as part of an in-depth interview with The Telegraph and chose surprisingly few Real Madrid players in the starting line-up that looks like this. We're not even going to attempt to explain the glaring lack of Iker Casillas but all we'll say is that Mourinho's falling out with some of those at the Bernabeu is abundantly clear on his teamsheet.
