Jose Mourinho labels Fifa’s payment to the FAI ‘the end of the world’

Just when the FAI might have hoped the issue of their cosy agreement with Fifa over the Thierry Henry handball incident might have gone away, a little known Portugeuse coach has offered his withering opinion on the matter. Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho claims the deal to give the FAI a €5million 'loan' in return for the dropping of any further action over the controversial World Cup play-off game in 2009 is the straw that must break the camel's back when it comes to Fifa corruption, in that it materially affected what goes on on the field rather than in the smoke-filled rooms filled with football executives. 'For me, the corruption, the money, the votes, the countries [is one thing], but even more than that, now we are coming in the direction of what is mine,' Mourinho told the Sunday Times.
